Biography I was born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I'm finally returning to my roots after nine years of self discovery through travel and education. I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life, one that involves helping others achieve optimal physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing. After graduating from Acadia University with a BScH (Honours in Biology), I moved to South Korea for a year to teach English. It was during this time that I truly discovered Natural Medicine and saw the impact that it had on the people who accessed it. Upon returning to Canada I was accepted into the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where I received in depth training in medical sciences, diagnosis, physical examinations and naturopathic modalities including: Nutrition, Hydrotherapy, Physical therapies, Counselling, Botanical Medicine, Homeopathy, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. |

I'm a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with both the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. I have further training in Ayurvedic Medicine with Matthew Remski of Toronto's Renaissance Yoga and Ayurveda; Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture with Virginia Doran MS, LAc; Reiki with Dr. Usha of the Buddha Hall in Dharamshala India; Parenteral Therapy with Dr. Paul Saunders PhD, ND, DHANP; Dream Interpretation with Dr. Christopher Sowton ND, FCAH. During my time at CCNM I volunteered my services in India with CFHI treating patients through community services and Ayurvedic Medicine, at CCNM's free satellite clinic at Sherbourne Health Centre treating patients living with HIV, and at the AIDS Committee of Toronto. During my last year at CCNM I was appointed as the VP Clinic of the Naturopathic Students Association and saw patients on a full time basis at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic as part of my fourth year clinical which included a Homeopathy specialty shift with Dr. Nadia Bakir ND, FCAH. I strive to maintain a balanced lifestyle with an active passion for yoga and long distance running as well as pursuing my artistic side by playing music and painting. In my spare time I enjoy venturing into the farmers markets and creating whole food dishes, relaxing with family and friends, cuddling with my pet cat Carma, reading at coffee shops and taking in the live music and art of HRM. Warmly, Tara |
